SHOWREEL IS COMING SOON
THE UNLIKELY LADS
The Unlikely Lads were founded by ‘Steve Garrod’ along with ‘Sam Aubrey’, in 2012 when Sam left Steve was joined by ‘Lee Goode’ and so the story continued.
However, in the summer of 2016 Steve’s partner gave birth to their first child and Steve decided to retire from the act. Undaunted Manager: Ian Davis, set about finding a suitable replacement, having had numerous successful comedy acts to his credit and along came ‘Paul Traynor’. The two went straight into rehearsals and put together an incredible new show.
Lee Goode began his career as a blue coat with Pontin’s, and this was followed by several seasons as a resident compere for Haven Holidays. In 2001 he won the Haven Entertainer of the Year Award and at the end of that year he became one half of the highly-respected comedy duo “Goodie & Nick” who went on to appear nationwide and overseas, in both cabaret and pantomime.
Since the break up of the double act, Lee had been working solo, but had yearned to be part of a double act again. When the opportunity came up to join forces with Paul Traynor, he jumped at the chance. Lee’s last solo performance of note was to appear as ‘Muddles’ in the pantomime ‘Snow White’ in the Middlesborough Theatre, another of Lee’s passions. He has also written for numerous well-known comedians, TV and radio programmes.
From a very early age Paul wanted to be a comedian and it all started for him when he dressed up in his dad’s mac and imitated Frank Spencer at a family gathering, from then on it was a regular feature at any family event. After his first holiday at a Butlin’s HP, Paul was bitten by the show business bug and was determined to follow his career ambition and as a redcoat he started to develop his skills.
Paul had his first taste of television in the early 1990's when he appeared on Keith Chegwin’s Star Search. ”I will always remember Nicky Campbell's comments...... Great comedy timing a real hope for the future”. During his time as a redcoat his confidence grew developing new skills as a compere, singing and dancing. After leaving Butlin’s in the late 90's Paul took a position with Openwide International working as an entertainer for ‘First Choice Holidays’ abroad, where he was able to firmly establish his act.
Paul has supported and compered for major stars and feels completely at home on a stage and has recently been appearing in the West End of London in the very successful play ’Factor 2025’.
Their act is both stand up and vocal, containing topical parodies and sketches with the normal slapstick repartee of a comedy double act. Their show provides an hour of fun and frolics for any discerning audience. The Unlikely Lads will travel anywhere worldwide to enhance their reputation. They can perform fully self-contained or using a house system. They can also be commissioned to write and produce comedy parodies tailored for corporate and special occasions where the personal touch is required. The Unlikely Lads are backed up with marketing material of the highest quality.
